Check-Up

Drew had his 4 month check up on Tuesday. We have lots to report:-) He weighs 17.5lbs and is 26.5 inches long. Needless to say he is a big boy!!! The doctor said he is in the 90th percentile for both. Since he is such a big boy the doctor wanted us keep up with the rice cereal and said we could start VEGGIES! Yay! So tonight we gave squash a try. It was a new, interesting, kind of yucky experience. Drew made a strange face with the first bite, but plowed through the rest like a trooper. I imagine fruits will be more of a popular choice. I can see why the doc said to do veggies first and leave fruit for last. I took a video of the squash experience...i'll put it up soon.

4 Months

Drew turned 4 months old today! I did a 4 month photo shoot, but haven't pulled the pictures off of the other camera yet. In the meantime, here is a video of Drew enjoying some cereal. He is a crazy boy with this stuff...demanding one spoonful after the other! He got so greedy tonight, that he grabbed the bowl with one hand, pulled it up to his mouth and tried to drink the cereal...ha! He is smart!

Out to eat

We went to Chic fil a for supper last night. Drew loved watching all the commotion going on around him. As you can see he has a new trick...sitting up in his car seat! Of course that makes strapping him in a struggle:-(

Lounging Around

I sat Drew in the rocking chair Saturday morning and found Veggie Tales on TV. I decided to see what he would do. He actually sat there and watched for about 15 minutes before boredom set in.

Hanging on the couch with Daddy.

Tummy Time...Not a Fan

We try to have Tummy Time everyday and this is usually what happens. He loves to squeal. He likes it at first, but then starts to get frustrated...it's all downhill from there!

Up, Up and Away!

Drew is learning how to fly:-) He and Daddy practice everyday. So far, so good! Daddy makes a good pilot and Drew is a good copilot. I guess that makes me the stewardess....peanuts anyone?

NOT That Lady

A while back I wrote about not wanting to be "That Lady" when we flew back to Nebraska. Well, I'm happy to report (a few weeks later...I have limited access to both of my typing hands these days!) that I was not "That Lady", Drew was not "That Baby" and Andy was not "That Guy with That Lady and That Baby". Drew Liles was a flying baby miracle!!! He did so awesome on all of our flights. Only having a minor melt down before we took off from Minneapolis. He slept, he smiled, he ate, he played the whole trip away. Praise the Lord! Andy and I even became seasoned pros at changing dirty diapers at 30,000 feet. We were like doctor and nurse, but instead of "scalpel", it was "diaper", "wipe", etc. On our flight home from Atlanta, I was sure we would have the meltdown...we were stuck in the plane, on the ground for 2 hours before our flight actually took off. YIKES. Drew slept the whole time. I made a point not to move a single muscle while he slept in my arms for fear that he might wake up. Needless to say, I had a seriously sore back the next couple of days. But OUR BABY was not THAT BABY and we are so proud of him.

Liles in Nebraska

Our Family

Drew by Grandma's pretty flowers. My mom has a green thumb...my thumb is a different color. Plants and I don't mesh well.

At the Village Market. Drew got a sucker from Gary. He didn't get to eat it, but I saved it for later:-)

Greatness

We just got back from Nebraska late, late(more on the late, late later) last night. Drew was able to meet, for the first time, his Great Grammy and Great Papa and Great Grandma Dankert.

New Jammies

I got Drew some new jammies at Target the other day. He is growing out of his others at an alarming rate...these new ones are 6 months! I just love the colors. Makes me think of fall. Feel like I need to sit him on a pumpkin or something:-)
