We just got back from Nebraska late, late(more on the late, late later) last night. Drew was able to meet, for the first time, his Great Grammy and Great Papa and Great Grandma Dankert.

That Lady
This Saturday we will be embarking on our first big adventure since Drew was born. We are flying to Nebraska to spend a few days with my family. I must admit I'm a bit nervous about flying with the baby. I'm afraid I might be "that lady with the fussy baby that cried so much I couldn't sleep on the plane". We all know that lady...we've all complained about her and her baby before. So, I am praying hard already that God will give Drew the urge to nap and sleep and be silent while we are in the air!!!! I asked the pediatrician if he had any pointers for flying with an infant. He said feed him when we take off and land...pops their ears. And give them a shot of Tylenol...makes them sleepy. So, I will be drugging my child and encouraging overeating all for the sake of not being "that lady"!!!!!!

Day at the Doctor
Drew went to the doctor today for his two month check up. He did such a good job, poor baby:-( He cried while the nurse was measuring him and when I carried him to the scale to get weighed. He had to get naked for those two events and he's a modest baby...doesn't like to be undress too much. Especially in front of strangers! He calmed down while we waited for the doctor and even fell asleep. The doc came in and check his breathing, heart, etc. Drew woke up when the ears started getting checked and by the time he had to say "awww" to get his mouth looked at, he was having a melt down. Then came time for the shots. He was already crying, but when the doctor stuck him with the needle his little eyes got so wide and he was looking at me like "Mommy, what is he doing to me? HELP!" Break my heart!!!!! The doctor told me to love him up and I did just that. He soon calmed down and was asleep before we made it to the office window. I really like his doctor. He's so kind and really gentle with Drew and doesn't get bothered by his crying. He rubbed Drew's head after his shots and said "This is the worst part of my job. I'm sorry buddy!" So Drew did really well this afternoon and early evening. Was even super smiley and talking and cooing, but around 7:30 he started to feel those shots. I gave him some Tylenol and rocked him to sleep. He went to bed earlier than normal, but he was just not feeling good, so I didn't have the heart to keep him up just of the sake of sticking to normal bedtime.
So, hopefully he feels better tomorrow, but if not the Tylenol and the rocking chair and Mommy and Daddy's hugs and kisses are standing by:-)

Bad Bananas
Today was a pretty good day. Drew was happy and took a good nap around lunch time. While he slept I decided to make a cake since I haven't really baked anything since he's been born. I had some bananas that were starting to go bad, so I made a banana cake. I went to BJs the other day (it's like Sam's Club) and bought bananas in bulk. Not sure why I did that...it's not like we have a potassium deficiency epidemic going on. So, I have lots of bananas going bad. Will probably make some banana muffins when Drew naps again:-)

Update
Hey everyone! I need to get some new pics taken and put up. It's been busy with the baby the past couple of days, but I will try to get some shots tomorrow. Drew is in bed. I'm in Andy's office catching up on email, etc while he does some computer work.
We are going to Nebraska next Saturday! I'm so excited to go home to see the fam and have Drew meet his great-grandparents. It will be a good time. I'm a little nervous about the flight and how Drew will handle the big trip. He is a good baby, but is very aware of his surroundings and if something is off or if he is uncomfortable, he gets pretty cranky. So, if you will, please pray that Drew will do great and not fuss too much....just pray he takes a super long nap that day:-)
Anyway, I best get to bed. Sleep is hard to come by these days. I've started tivo-ing my favorite shows during the day and then watching them at night while Drew is up to eat. It helps pass the time and makes the dark living room a little less blah:-)

Technical Difficulties
Hey everyone! So you probably know by now that our site was down for a few days. The company that hosts our site was having issues and still is. I'm not able to blog on the normal page I blog on...hence the blogging on the pictures page. So, I don't know when it will be up and running. Andy's been talking to them today, so we shall see.
Anyway, we are doing really good. Drew is 8 weeks old today:-) Holy Cow! I can't believe how fast time flies. He will be 2 months on Sunday, the 22nd. Same day as my mom's birthday:-) Drew is smiling so much and cooing and talking and in true boy fashion, grunting:-)
